Minimal Cookies, Maximum Privacy

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or session state. Cookies are widely used across the web to make sites work efficiently and to provide information to site owners.

There are several types of cookies:

• Essential cookies — required for the website to function correctly. Without these, features like theme preferences wouldn't persist between visits.
• Preference cookies — remember your settings and choices, such as language or display preferences.
• Analytics cookies — collect information about how visitors use a website, used for improving site performance. PDFly does not use these.
• Advertising cookies — used to deliver relevant advertisements and track marketing campaign effectiveness. PDFly does not use these.
• Third-party cookies — set by domains other than the one you're visiting, often for tracking and advertising. PDFly does not use these.

How PDFly Uses Cookies

PDFly takes a minimalist approach to cookies. We only set cookies that are absolutely necessary for core website functionality. Specifically, we use cookies to:

• Remember your theme preference — When you toggle between light and dark mode, we store your choice so the site loads in your preferred theme on your next visit. This cookie is called pdfly-theme.
• Maintain session state — Basic session information is stored to ensure smooth tool interactions during your browsing session. This cookie is cleared when you close your browser tab.

We do not use cookies for: analytics, advertising, tracking, personalization, marketing, or any form of data collection. We do not share cookie data with any third parties because we don't collect any.

Managing and Deleting Cookies

You have full control over cookies in your browser. You can:

• View cookies — Most browsers let you inspect cookies stored by websites through the Developer Tools or Privacy settings.
• Delete cookies — You can clear all cookies or specific cookies through your browser's privacy settings.
• Block cookies — You can configure your browser to block all cookies or only third-party cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies may affect PDFly's functionality (e.g., your theme preference won't be remembered).
• Browse privately — Using Incognito or Private Browsing mode prevents cookies from being saved after you close the window.

Third-Party Cookies

PDFly does not use any third-party cookies. We do not embed Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Google AdSense, or any other third-party tracking or advertising services on our website.

Because all PDF processing happens client-side in your browser, there are no third-party services involved in file handling either. Your documents are processed entirely on your device and are never sent to any external service.
