Questions & answers
No. Split PDF runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your file is read locally, split locally, and the results are generated on your device. Nothing is transmitted to any server.
Four modes: Split by custom page ranges (e.g. 1-5, 8, 10-12), Split every N pages (uniform chunks), Split into single pages (one file per page), and Split into equal parts (N equal sections).
All split files are bundled into a single ZIP archive for convenient download. You can also download individual files separately from the results list.
No. The split process copies page objects directly from the source PDF without re-encoding. Text, images, fonts, and vector graphics are preserved exactly as in the original.
If you know the password, the tool can attempt to load the PDF. However, for heavily encrypted files, you may need to unlock them first using a dedicated unlock tool.
The only limit is your device's available RAM. Most modern browsers can handle PDFs with hundreds of pages. For very large files, close other tabs to free memory.
