By accessing or using PDFly (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and PDFly ("we", "us", or "our").

2. Service Description

PDFly provides a suite of PDF manipulation tools that operate entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. The Service includes:

• Free tools: merge, split, compress, convert, rotate, OCR, AI chat, and more
• AI-powered features: PDF chat and smart document analysis
• OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for scanned documents

All file processing happens client-side. Your files are never uploaded to our servers.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PDFly only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use the Service to process documents that violate any law or regulation
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the WebAssembly modules
• Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Service in a way that exceeds normal usage
• Attempt to overload, crash, or disrupt the Service
• Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright or trademark notices
• Use the Service to process documents you do not have the right to access

4. Accounts & Access

All PDFly tools are free to use without an account. No signup is required, and no watermarks are added to your files. All features are available to everyone at no cost.

5. Pricing

PDFly is 100% free. All tools and features are available at no cost. There are no subscriptions, no paid plans, and no hidden fees.

6. Intellectual Property

PDFly, including its design, code, WebAssembly modules, branding, and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.

Your files remain your property. We claim no ownership rights over any documents you process with PDFly. Since files are processed locally and never uploaded, we have no access to your content.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free at all times
• All file conversions will produce perfect results
• The Service will meet your specific requirements

We recommend always keeping a backup of your original files before using any PDF tool.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFly shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities resulting from use of the Service
• Any issues arising from the processing or conversion of your files
• Any downtime or unavailability of the Service

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed $50.

9. Termination

You may stop using PDFly at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:

• You violate these Terms
• We discontinue the Service (with at least 30 days' notice)

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PDFly is operated. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Notify you of material changes via a prominent notice on the site
• Provide at least 30 days' notice before material changes take effect
